Turkey - The Lycian & Carian and Gokova Flotillas
Our Lycian and Carian flotillas follow routes east and west of the vibrant port of Marmaris with starting and dropping off points at our bases in Orhaniye and Fethiye. Sailing at an easy pace we visit secluded bays, each with a single restaurant ashore where the boats tie up to rickety wooden jetties, as well as colourful towns such as Datça, an old trading port with a lively bazaar and bustling waterfront of great eateries.
The Gokova flotilla appeals to more experienced crews, setting sail west from Orhaniye to explore the large gulfs of Hisaronu and Gokova, with excellent sailing in fresh to moderate winds. Daily distances are slightly longer, and are rewarded by magical landfalls in delightful bays and lively towns and villages where you can soak up the Turkish culture and enjoy mouth-watering local cuisine.
Croatia’s spectacular Adriatic coast of a ‘thousand islands’ has some of the most breathtaking scenery in the whole of the Mediterranean. To sail in steady breezes through the cluster of small islands that make up the beautiful Kornati National Park is an experience not to be missed. Sample the fine cuisine and warm hospitality of the local people while exploring the larger, more populated islands of Brac and Solta. Further south, discover the picturesque medieval towns of Dubrovnik, Hvar and Korcula. Cruising distances are generally short, so days are set at a leisurely pace. Most itineraries provide a pleasant combination of mooring on town quays, in bays with quiet anchorages, and in sophisticated marinas.
Our one and two week cruises provide a fantastic opportunity to discover the unspoilt natural beauty of the Greek isles. Sailing from the beautiful port of Poros the flotilla explores the island studded coastline of the Saronic and Argolic gulfs on the eastern side of Peloponnese. Our second flotilla cruise is set amongst the Sporades island chain sailing from the vibrant town of Skiathos.
